ADHWIKA KAPOOR

In the city of Mumbai...

On a winter night, while everyone else was sleeping peacefully and comfortably in their quilts, a desperate struggle for survival was unfolding inside a sprawling bungalow in an upscale neighborhood.

The magnificent bungalow was engulfed in flames; servants were frantically trying to douse the fire, while others—wearing masks of feigned concern—watched the house burn, harboring a secret desire for its destruction deep within their eyes.

Inside the villa, in one of the rooms, an 18-year-old girl lay unconscious on the floor. It was impossible to tell whether she had fainted because of the thick, suffocating smoke filling the room or because of the juice spilled beside her.

Just then, after struggling through the smoke, a man entered the room. He appeared to be around forty-five years old. Wrapped in a blanket for protection, he hurried toward the girl, who lay in a deep, unconscious sleep, completely unaware of the world around her.

That man was none other than Gautam Kapoor, Mumbai's biggest real estate businessman, a man whose influence ruled the entire city. And the unconscious girl lying there was none other than his only daughter, Advika Kapoor—our heroine.

When Gautam saw that the flames were slowly swallowing the room, he immediately rushed to Advika, who lay unconscious on the floor. Looking around, his eyes fell upon a glass of juice lying nearby. In an instant, he understood that whoever had started this fire had also made sure that the drugged juice reached Advika.

Filled with panic, he quickly lifted his unconscious daughter into his arms. But by then, the entire room had already been surrounded by blazing flames.

As Gautam looked around and found himself trapped by the fire from every direction, fear gripped his heart. Had he been alone, he wouldn't have cared about his own life. But when a father's child's life is also at stake, even the strongest heart begins to tremble.

Looking at his innocent daughter in his arms, Gautam made up his mind. No matter what happened, he had to save her. Even if it meant sacrificing his own life.

Holding Advika tightly, he moved toward the only exit, which was already engulfed in flames.

He quickly grabbed a blanket from Advika's bed, wrapped her completely inside it to protect her, and was just about to jump through the burning doorway when, at the perfect moment, his secretary and right-hand man, Umesh Patel, arrived carrying a fire extinguisher.

The moment Gautam saw Umesh, he felt a wave of relief wash over him. At this difficult moment, if there was one person in the entire world he could trust without hesitation, it was Umesh.

Without wasting a second, Umesh extinguished the flames blocking their path and rushed toward Gautam.

"Boss, are you alright?"

Then noticing Advika unconscious in his arms, he asked anxiously,

"Boss... what happened to Advika beta? She never loses consciousness like this."

Hearing his question, Gautam replied,

"Umesh... I think someone drugged Noor."

(Gautam lovingly called Advika "Noor" because, to him, she was like a divine light that illuminated his life.)

"Right now, our only priority is to get Noor out of here safely."

Without another word, Umesh immediately led Gautam and Advika through the villa's emergency exit—a passage whose existence was known only to the two of them.

Carefully avoiding the eyes of those people standing outside the villa, wearing masks of concern while hiding their true intentions, Umesh safely took them away from the scene.

After driving some distance away from the villa, Umesh stopped the car.

Looking toward Gautam, he asked,

"Sir... what should we do now? We still don't know who started this fire... but we all know the reason behind it."

Hearing him, Gautam slowly closed his eyes and said,

"Just like every other time... it was another attempt to kill our Noor."

"And this time... they came dangerously close to succeeding."

Opening his eyes, he looked lovingly at his priceless daughter and said,

"Umesh... this time we will have to take the step that we could never take before... because of our love for our daughter."

Umesh looked at Gautam in complete surprise.

"Sir... what are you planning to do?"

Gautam gently caressed Advika's face and replied,

"The very thing we should have done long ago... the thing that could have prevented Noor's life from being in danger today."

Just then, Advika slowly began regaining consciousness.

As she opened her eyes, she immediately struggled to breathe and began coughing violently.

Seeing his daughter regain consciousness, Gautam finally felt life return to his own body.

He quickly handed her a bottle of water and gently patted her back until her breathing became normal.

After drinking some water, Advika looked around in confusion.

Seeing herself sitting inside a car with her father and Umesh Uncle beside her, she was completely shocked.

Confused, she looked at her father and asked,

"Papa... why are you in this condition? And... why are we inside the car? I was at home... wasn't I?"

Gautam listened to her questions carefully before holding her hand with a serious expression.

"Noor beta... listen to me very carefully."

"Someone set our house on fire today."

"And... someone tried to kill you once again."

The bottle slipped from Advika's trembling hands.

In a shaking voice, she whispered,

"Fi... fire?"

"What do you mean, Papa?"

"How... how can our house catch fire?"

Then she immediately turned toward Umesh.

"Uncle... please tell me Papa is joking... right? Please say something... Uncle..."

But Umesh remained silent.

Seeing both of them silent, Advika's heart began racing with fear.

Tears streamed down her face as she cried,

"Please say something..."

"You're joking, right?"

"How can someone burn our house...?"

Seeing her panic like this, Gautam gently held her and said,

"Noor... everything I said..."

"...is true."

"And now... you have to listen to me."

But Advika wasn't hearing any of it.

All she could think about was her home.

The home where she had spent her childhood.

The home that held every memory—from her laughter to her tears.

The home that preserved the last memories she had of her mother.

She immediately turned toward Umesh and pleaded,

"Uncle... please take me back."

"There are so many things of my mother there."

"I can't leave them behind like this."

But Umesh didn't even start the car.

Instead, he simply kept looking at Gautam, waiting for his signal.

Growing desperate, Advika shouted,

"Please drive, Uncle!"

"I have to go back!"

Even then, Umesh remained motionless.

Seeing that no one was listening to her, Advika desperately reached for the car door.

"If you won't take me..."

"I'll go myself."

"I won't let my mother's belongings burn."

Watching his daughter lose control over her emotions broke Gautam's heart.

He immediately stopped her and said firmly,

"Noor..."

"You are not going there."

Her voice trembled as she looked at him.

"But Papa..."

"Why can't we go?"

"I have to go there..."

Hearing her repeat the same plea again and again, Gautam finally shouted,

"You cannot go..."

"...because Advika Kapoor died in that fire today."

Advika's hand slowly slipped away from the door lock.

She turned toward her father in complete disbelief.

"Died...?"

"What do you mean died, Papa?"

"I'm standing right here in front of you..."

Holding her trembling hand, Gautam said,

"That's exactly what I was trying to tell you, Noor."

"You have to leave Mumbai."

"You must go far away from this city."

"The attempts on your life are becoming more frequent."

"According to your grandfather's will, your property cannot be sold by anyone until you turn twenty-three."

"So until then..."

"You must disappear."

"And for the rest of the world..."

"Advika Kapoor died today."

Advika's hands went completely limp inside her father's grasp.

With tear-filled eyes, she stared at him in disbelief.

"Papa..."

"How can you send me away from you for five years?"

"I'm not going anywhere..."

"I'm not leaving you."

Crying uncontrollably, she tightly hugged him, as if loosening her grip for even a second would make him take her away forever.

But this time, Gautam had made up his mind.

Sending Advika away from himself was the only way to keep her alive.

He lovingly kissed her forehead and said,

"Noor..."

"Take care of yourself."

"And if you ever need anything..."

"Call me."

"And one more thing..."

"Don't use any of your bank accounts or identities anymore."

"I'll arrange everything for you in a few days."

"But until then..."

He took out bundles of ₹2000 notes from his pocket and handed them to her.

"These will help you for now."

Listening to her father's words, fear slowly took over Advika's heart.

She could tell from the firmness in his voice that he had already made his decision.

Before she could refuse once again, Gautam gently placed her hand on his own head and said,

"Noor..."

"You have my oath."

"Please leave."

"And leave this identity behind in Mumbai."

"Go... and create your own identity."

Then he turned toward Umesh.

"Umesh..."

"Drop her at the railway station."

After saying that, he kissed Advika's forehead one last time and quickly stepped out of the car.

Because if he stayed even a second longer...

...he wouldn't be able to remain strong in front of his daughter.

This time, however, Advika said nothing.

She simply stared at her father with empty, lifeless eyes.

Umesh silently started the car and drove toward the railway station.

Slowly...

Very slowly...

Gautam disappeared from Advika's sight.

And along with the flames of that fire...

For the entire world...

Advika Kapoor had died that day.

To be continued...
